We hope that you will find every facet of our company refreshingly and startlingly different than our competition. Our vision is to help large IT departments look like heroes in the eyes of their clients, the employees and end-users of the IT infrastructure. We see our vision evolving through three aspects: process, visualization, and automation. We think we can realize this vision through our core values, beliefs, and technology. Sure, On demand, subscription licensed, ITIL from the ground up, stunning simplicity, automatic upgrades, and completeness in a single platform are all significant differentiators, but to better understand how we got here, and more importantly how we will continue to lead the evolution, please read on:
Attitude - we are confident but humble, knowledgeable but not arrogant, we listen, we ask questions. We love to learn about challenges in IT and help implement simple and innovative solutions. Your success just happens to be our passion and that almost always works out to everyone’s advantage.
Integrity - we are up-front when we don't understand a question and admit when our solution does not have the necessary functionality. We will not try to pull the wool over your eyes, as Fred Brooks wrote in the Mythical Man-Month, "there are no silver bullets"...we are no exception. We do believe that we can show you the fastest, least expensive, and best route to success, all we ask is for a chance to prove it.
Passion - we think we have, by far, the most capable offering. We are excited to show you how we have solved hundreds of challenges on behalf of our global, broad and diverse customer base. We are also visibly proud of the over one hundred product enhancements that have been directly inspired by the customer base - we give credit where credit is due. When we find a shortcoming, we are often able to craft an elegant and integrated enhancement in a very short period of time.
Technology - while we are quite confident that we have by far the best technology in our market segment, we are acutely aware that we can do so much better. In 2007, we made over 500 software improvements including several new and significant application capabilities, all while maintaining forward compatibility and keeping our customer base on the latest release through our patented, painless, and non-disruptive upgrade process.
Licensing - we are not going to try and force you to be "all in up front". We believe that the value of our solution can start small and build significantly over time (in fact, we enjoy a better than 200% license renewal rate as our existing customers continue to find new and interesting ways to solve problems in their organizations year after year).
Flexibility - we know that no two organizations are the same in the way they will use our technology, so we are quite willing to listen to your needs and work out an agreement that is fair to all parties.
Modern - no client/server heritage with a web front-end here. No API set with a SOAP veneer. We are native web from start to finish. Web 2.0 plus ITIL 3 describes the Service-now offering. Sure we are buzzword compliant (ITIL, AJAX, SOAP, WSDL, RSS, LDAP), but more importantly, your users will notice that the technology "just works" - whether it is auto-complete in the browser (AJAX), integrations with other infrastructure (SOAP, JMS, JDBC, SMS, ...) or single signon in complex environments (LDAP, Siteminder, ...) we believe that you will find Service-now.com to be the most powerful, flexible, and, most importantly, simplest solution available today.
We Develop Software - another core passion. It’s what many of us live and breathe every day of the year! We are dedicated to using the bulk of our revenue to improve our product and keep us ahead of the competition - way ahead. Contrast us with the competition, whose products are on their third or fourth acquisition, where the best integration happens when the product inherits a new name, appears in a corporate sales PowerPoint or on the customer invoice. Our competition likes to acquire old technology and develop roadmaps. We love to build, architect, re-architect, and release software - a stark contrast indeed.
What’s the catch?
No catch, it’s the reality of Service-now.com. A better way.
